What is ACSR Conductor ?
ACSR Conductor is short for Aluminium Conductors Steel Reinforced , also known as Bare aluminium conductors, is one of the most widely used conductors for transmission. ACSR Conductor consists of one or more layers of aluminium wires stranded over a high strength steel core that can be single or multiple strands depending on the requirement. There can be various stranding combinations of Al and steel wires lending flexibility to obtain suitable current carrying capacity and mechanical strength for the application.
ACSR Conductor is applied for large span overhead transmission and distribution lines or overhead ground wire of lines. Temperature for continuous use can be up to 75 ℃. Aluminium Conductors Steel Reinforced Used as bare overhead transmission conductor and as primary and secondary distribution conductor and messenger support. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.
